Stand Tall in Your Faith

Armor of God – Part 1

One of my favorite passages in the Bible is the description of the Armor of God in the book of Ephesians! I used to work at a Christian book store and we sold pamphlets teaching about it and even statues of it, but I never actually knew about it. During this time of my life, I was still going to school full-time and working almost full-time so I didn’t give much of my free availability, if any, to Jesus, unfortunately. That being said, God made me walk that path for a reason and today my relationship with him is growing evermore!

In Ephesians 6, verses 10 through 20, Paul discusses the Armor of God, and it’s purpose. I want to briefly go through the passage of the Armor of God, because when I finally learned about it on my own, I was mesmerized! I find it so interesting and powerful the way it is described. I will break it into two parts, therefore, make sure to come back next week to read part 2! If you need a reminder, feel free to subscribe!

This week, I will be going through the first part; Ephesians 6, verses 10-13 just to get introduced to the passage. Next week, I will actually talk about each piece of armor! Alright, let’s get to it!

Strength in Faith

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.

-Ephesians 6:10-11

Having great strength in your faith will help you stand against evil and sin. Trusting fully in the Lord, he will give you what is needed to fight the battle here, on earth, against all wickedness. You must clothe yourselves with his Word, and his Holy Spirit, then you will have the Armor of God.

Worldly Struggles

For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.

-Ephesians 6:12

This is not to say we will be fighting each other man to man. But, against rules, government, and worldly influences. They will try to make a way for society that is not God’s way. They will try to enforce laws that are not God’s laws. They will try to manipulate our systems, our children, and us. However, God gave us his armor. We must put it on to fight for what is right in the Lord and use it to protect ourselves from the devil’s plans.

Stand Tall

Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.

-Ephesians 6:13

If you believe in Jesus Christ, put on the full armor of God. By doing so, you will not just think, but act, of the Word and of God. You will know of the Holy Spirit. You will be able to stand up for Him and we must stand tall in our Faith.

Next week I will go over the specific parts of the Armor of God and talk more about Paul’s words in depth! For more Bible Study click here!
