Stand Tall in Your Faith
Armor of God – Part 2
Hi everyone! I took this past week to rejuvenate, well mostly to catch up on laundry, but it was still pretty relaxing! But I am ready to get myself back into gear and find myself more deep with the Lord! You with me?
Two weeks ago, I started a brief summary of the Armor of God that Paul talks about in Ephesians 6. However, I didn’t want to cram it all into one little post because I feel that each scripture used to describe it is very meaningful. So, I broke it up into two parts; part 1 was Ephesians, chapter 6, verses 10-13, and part 2 will be Ephesians, chapter 6, verses 14-20.

Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
God gives us what we need to fight our battles; our battles against the world. With the armor of God we can stand firm against evil, against sin, against Satan. He gives us our belt of Truth when we read His word and believe in it. He gives us our breastplate of righteousness when we accept His Grace. And with the gospel, we will be prepared to stand firm.
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Our Faith shields us from the evil shooting at us like arrows. These arrows of evil are inflamed, but our shield of faith will keep the flame astray. Sin can be stubborn, but let your Faith be stronger.
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
Lastly, the helmet is placed on us because of salvation. Our sins are forgiven and we are saved, by Jesus Christ. Salvation protects us. With this, we have the full armor of God. With this we must stand tall.
Power of Prayer
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.
Even with the armor of God, the powerful shields we are provided, Paul makes certain that we don’t forget to pray. How powerful prayer must be for Paul to still exclaim it, even after the breastplate, helmet, and shield! The power of Prayer!
Be aware and pray. Pray for our sisters and brothers in Christ, so that we cannot fail. And for one another so that we can stand tall in our Faith. Pray together so that we can stand against evil!
Paul, humbly, asking for prayer as well, to give him the right words to speak when necessary. Let’s pray for that.
I pray that we take this armor that you have so graciously given to us, and stand firm in it. I pray that we know your Truth and spread it. Please Lord, let us, brothers and sisters, come together, and stand tall against the evil of this world. Thank you for our armor.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
So, friends, stand tall!
