Do you want to know who you are? Do you want to find out what you should do in your life? Well, you have come to the right place! I have designed the PERFECT quiz just for you! No more wondering! No more scrolling through the internet! Take this quiz to find out who you are now!
If only it were that easy. There’s no perfect quiz or test to tell you who you are or what job you should do or where you should live! But, there is the perfect creator, and he goes by God. Do you know him?
For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
(14) I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
(15) My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place,
when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
(16) Your eyes saw my unformed body;
all the days ordained for me were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
Seek the Lord
All of my life I pondered this question..”who am I?”. I have spent countless hours googling, taking a quiz or two, finding Pinterest articles and outfit ideas. From “What Kind of Career Should I Have?” to “What’s My Style?”, you can find pretty much ANY quiz out there to take to “help” you find out who you are. However, you will NEVER find the answer you’re looking for through these quizzes. Even if you think you do, you’ll be back on Google in a month searching for another quiz to help with your newest wonder.
I’m not gonna lie, I did one last week. But, it didn’t tell me what I wanted to hear, it didn’t put me in awe and say “Oh! Now I know who I am!”, no, I said “well, that was a waste of time”. I still struggled not knowing the answer to my question.
I don’t know the answer to my question, however, someone else does, and no, it’s not Bing! It’s Jesus, He knows the answer, He knows me. I don’t need to search the internet, I need to Seek the Lord.
But, before doing that, what do you do? Listen to what you read from the internet, or what you see on social media? Pin outfits that are well put together with a bunch of accessories even though you would much rather wear a sweatshirt & UGGS? You make a schedule based on someone else’s that you found online. Even if it doesn’t work for you, it worked for them and they look like they’re doing great so you just keep on struggling trying to adjust to their schedule! You find fancy recipes that look so good, but do you even like portabello mushrooms? Do you even like reading Fiction books? Do you even like Pumpkin Spice Lattes? [Gotcha there!]
Ugh! It’s SO exhausting trying to keep up with someone you are not! Best piece of advice..stop. Just stop. You don’t have to wear that fancy scarf and those annoying bracelets. If you want to wear leggings, do it! If that “put-together” mom’s cleaning schedule doesn’t work with your baby’s nap schedule, then don’t do it. Make your own cleaning schedule, I promise you, it’s not as intense as it probably seems. Plus, it’s not set in stone, and trust me, as your baby grows, your schedule will change!
If you would much rather play your xbox than read a book, do it! Not everyone has the same hobbies, and there’s nothing wrong with giving yourself a little break, even if it’s not an Instagram worthy photo of you sipping tea and reading a book. And please, whatever you do, don’t get a PSL just because it’s a trend!
When you stop being everyone else, and start being you, you’ll feel lighter, you’ll feel like a weight has been lifted off of you. All the worry and stress will be gone. Be yourself. God made you, he likes you for who you are.
Being Molded By God
Yet you, Lord, are our Father. We are the clay, you are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.
Imagine, God is the molder and you are God’s clay, he molded you to who are. Why would you want to change God’s masterpiece? His creation? For example, if someone gave you a painting, maybe your daughter or nephew, and they handed it to you with a huge smile, so excited, hoping you’ll love it so much that you’ll hang it on the fridge for everyone to see. You take a look at it, then you start painting over it. Your daughter looking at you, confused, “what are you doing, mommy? Did you not like my painting? Was it not good enough the way it was? Why are you changing it?”. How sad is that? You would never do that! The painting was beautiful!
Well, guess what! You are God’s Clay. The clay is beautiful! Don’t change the clay! Go ahead and give the clay characteristics and memories, but don’t alter it. God made it and He will continue to mold it.
So, when you are confused about who you are, remember that God made you and will continue molding you into the person he wants you to be. If you need answers or guidance, pray to Him. Seek Jesus. He will guide you. He will show you your way, in his timing. Be patient and trust the Lord with all your heart. I talk more on trusting the Lord here.
Who are you? You are You, and that is perfect. You are a child of God, and that is perfect. There is always room for growth, so grow by all means, but don’t change what God created, and allow God to continue molding you and your heart.
